You’re under contract (or stuck on one POS). You can still have the fees reviewed.
A processing contract feels like a lock. Early-termination fees. A Clover lease. A Toast agreement. Practice-management software that only talks to one processor. The usual advice is wait it out, or blow it up and switch.
You can have the fees reviewed without doing either.
Trailblaze is independent payment-processing cost review. We do not require a processor switch. We do not require a POS, software, or equipment change. We will not tell you to break a lease to save. Ryan Bates has about 15 years in payments, based in Fort Mill. The first step is one statement, even if you are 18 months into a 36-month term.
A contract does not freeze the rates
The term is about how long you stay. It is not a promise that markup and junk stay still.
Interchange and most network fees move because the card brands set them. Those are not negotiable. Processor markup often is, even mid-term. Monthly junk can appear after you signed: PCI, statement, batch, regulatory recovery, non-compliance. None of that requires a new processor to look at.
How to lower credit card processing fees without switching is the mechanics. This page is the objection: “I can’t do anything because I’m stuck.”
You often can. You just cannot (and should not) treat switch as the default move.
Sending a PDF does not change the account
Looking at a statement is not a cancellation. It is not a provider change. It does not notify your processor unless you later ask for a conversation.
That is the part owners mix up. The fear is early termination. The actual first step is a file. If the read says there is nothing worth pushing, you have lost nothing except a few minutes. If it says there is room, you still decide whether to talk to the processor you already have.
The steps are on how a rate review works.
What we will and will not do
Will:
Read the statement you already get
Separate junk and markup from interchange and network fees
Help you push on negotiable lines with the processor you already have, if a conversation is worth it
Tell you when it is not worth it
Will not:
Require you to switch processors
Require a POS, software, or equipment change
Tell you to break a hardware lease or an early-termination clause as the path to savings
Guarantee savings
Tell you that all fees are negotiable
If you run Toast, Clover, or Square, keep the system. Review the fees, not the POS. Integrated software is exactly why you review in place.
If a conversation is not worth it
You hear that. If the rates are already fair, we say so. Confirmation is useful. A fake review always needs a problem so it can sell a move.
Monitoring is optional after the read: $49 per MID per month, cancel anytime. That is a published flat fee, not a cut of claimed savings. Contingency vs. $49 if you want the cost comparison. Shorter answers: the Carolinas FAQ.
Send one statement anyway
One recent month. PDF, photo, or export. Under contract, on a lease, locked to one POS? Same process. Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Indian Land, Charlotte, and the rest of the Carolinas.
We do not guarantee a reduction. We do tell you whether there is anything to talk about without ripping anything out.
